Church Wedding Ceremony Program
Here in this post I would like to provide a sample of a church wedding ceremony program for your reference. My husband and I met in the church and it was certainly one of the most wonderful feeling to be married in front of God and the church community. My wedding ceremony held in the church was based on this program flow which I had researched online and also after obtained advice from the family pastor. This is not an ultimate list as you can modify it according to your need but I do include the very important items of a church wedding, notably the wedding vows.
As the pastor said, it is not the paper document that make we married but the wedding vows for each other. I personally felt that the exchange of wedding vows moment was indeed one of the most cherished moment throughout the ceremony. I hope this will be helpful for some of you couples who are planning for a church wedding!
Evening Ceremony Timeline
My church wedding ceremony program goes like this:
This ceremony timeline is based on an evening ceremony. It is a simple and easy-to-follow ceremony program in which we had the whole program followed closely and finished at 8pm when everyone was free and easy. It was held on a weekday and so we were quite concerned about many guests who had work tomorrow and aimed to finish it on time. After the ceremony, we just sat around in the common area and chilled, while many who witnessed our marriage congratulated us. The flow was simple and it is just as I wanted – to share a close and intimate moment with the group that we love. However, we did make a mistake on the day. Guess what?
NO CANDLE for the lighting of the candle ceremony lol. We hastily omitted that out on the spot but everything still goes on beautifully. Our officiant in this case is the pastor from the church. We included the officiant message in the program flow as the pastor shared the message about the bible reading that we picked from 1 John.
1 John 4: 14-19 English Standard Version (ESV)
God Is Love
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love… 19 We love because he first loved us.
The last verse in the passage is one of our favorite verses because it always reminds us that our love is made possible because God first loved us. Throughout our relationship, there are ups and downs but we have been so blessed to know and love God.
Afternoon Ceremony Timeline
This might not be applicable to some who preferred an evening ceremony but in any cases, I had another afternoon ceremony timeline that I had revised. ( I am not kidding when I said we organized two ceremonies lol) Here is another guideline for those who are more interested in an afternoon timeline with lunch to follow:
The ceremony program flow is essentially the duplicate of the evening ceremony although we omitted out the wedding register part because we were already registered in the previous ceremony. I particularly loved the wording at the end of the wedding invitation card.
It was such a day to remember all the wedding details and to be reminded of what a beautiful day it was. =) We were very blessed to be surrounded by all the loves. I certainly hope that this template will give a rough idea of your church ceremony flow. Bear in mind that it only serves as a guideline and I do believe that there are more items that you can add if you wish.
For those who are interested for a personalized wedding invitation card designed like my card in the last picture, I do have contact details that I hope can be of help. She is truly amazing to be able to cater all our needs to design our card in a very rushed deadline! And no doubt she had done an amazing job to include my favorite color too! ( I think it is obvious that it is purple lol)
